The European Congress of Radiology (ECR), the European Society of Radiology’s annual meeting, continues to be one of the most significant dates on the calendar for medical imaging vendors, providers, and radiologists. This year’s ECR saw attendance increasing once again, from 17,262 last year to 18,861 in 2024, growing ever closer to the numbers seen before the COVID-19 pandemic.
It is perhaps no surprise that many of the trends that were highlighted at this year’s ECR were also prevalent at the recent RSNA, with only a few months separating the two events, however, many of these topics have been dominating conversations in the industry since the last ECR in 2023. Contrary to the theme for this year’s event – “Next Generation Radiology” and the future of medical imaging – the focus was very much on present day concerns.
