SPI Medical Imaging: 4DMedical Cracks the Code for Disruption

4DMedical recently announced that it is now able to utilise two existing Category III Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes for the reimbursement of its CT LVAS technology. These existing codes already attract a reimbursement payment of US$650.50 per scan under the 2024 Medicare rulings for eligible facilities. The vendor highlights that this benchmark payment level, set for hospital outpatient procedures, serves as a guide for private health insurers in determining their pricing levels, typically at a much higher rate.

Gaining CMS reimbursement for CT LVAS is an important step for 4DMedical, and its journey to reaching this milestone demonstrates a beacon of success to other disruptive modality vendors.
