Bolstered by a recent funding round worth $126m, digital health start-up Transcarent has unveiled a new generative AI-enabled platform designed to enable health plan members to better navigate their benefits. The tool, which is focused on the employees of companies that offer self-funded health insurance, looks to save those companies money which would otherwise be spent on human-based care navigation services.
According to Transcarent, the new platform, named WayFinding, will allow members to easily determine what care they are eligible for, receive guidance on how to receive that care and connect with care delivery services. The tool also offers personalised insights and should make it easier for users to receive human support from Transcarent’s own in-house teams.
The complexity of the US healthcare system means patients could struggle to find the care they need, but could generative AI be the answer?
