Allegheny Health Network has recently rolled out a large language model, designed to be used by its staff members to increase the speed at which administrative tasks can be completed.
The tool, dubbed Sidekick, can help team members fill out paperwork more efficiently, including prior authorisation letters, sending appeals and ordering medications. This should allow the professionals to spend more time tending to patients.
The provider developed the tool alongside its partner, Google. With several providers having now developed their own large language models, is Allegheny Health Network making a sensible choice? Or is developing proprietary models a trend which won’t last?
