SPI Medical Imaging: Konica Partnership Represents the Latest Step in NewVue’s Ambitious Plans

Publication Date: 03/10/2024

With the importance of efficient operational workflow continuing to climb, Konica Minolta Healthcare Americas has sought to better meet the needs of its customers by offering them NewVue’s EmpowerSuite.

Through the newly formed partnership, providers using Konica Minolta’s Exa Platform can access the young workflow vendor’s Radiology Workflow Orchestrator and Command Center solution, a component that Konica’s Exa lacks. But, will these best-of-breed capabilities still make commercial sense for providers which already have access to more rudimentary tools, given their increasing commoditisation?

Why we are covering this topic

  • NewVue sprung onto the scene less than a year ago, but older vendors may be able to learn something from its rapid rise.
  • Providers are assessing the best way to manage their hospitals; workflow orchestration solutions could provide a compelling option.

Why it matters

  • So far, NewVue’s relationships have been formed with mid-sized imaging IT players. However, if its momentum continues, larger vendors who lay claim to very significant shares of the market may also have their heads turned.
  • Much of NewVue’s progress has so far been made on compelling promises, in time, however, evidence to back up its claims will have to be produced.
  • Longer term, NewVue and its peers also offering operational workflow tools will need to find additional revenue sources if they are to continue to grow.
