United Imaging has announced that it will reach its landmark 30,000th global unit installed this summer. The occasion will be marked by the installation of a uMI Panorama GS PET/CT system, the flagship of its uMI Panorama family, in the US. The announcement echoes that of its 8,500th installation in 2020 which, perhaps coincidentally, was also for a PET/CT system in the US.

United Imaging is clearly determined to crack the American market. Does its 30,000th installation represent a watershed moment for the Chinese vendor?
