Last month, Ireland’s Health Service Executive (HSE) formally launched a new national digital health initiative. The Digital for Care: A Digital Health Framework for Ireland 2024-2030 includes, among other things, the creation of a National Shared Care Record and an app for every resident in the country, the first version of which should be available by the end of this year.
The HSE’s overarching aim for the new framework is to provide a more ‘seamless’ healthcare experience for providers and patients, including giving physicians a holistic view of an individual’s healthcare journey.
